JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 29 - School Conferences

Should parents face jail time for missing their child's school conferences? No!Parents shouldn't face jail time for missing their child's school conferences. Judges shouldn't SEEK jail time to parents that do not attend their child's school conferences because jails are way too crowded to have people in jail for small reasons like that, which is not even a law. If parents go to jail for not attending their child’s parent teacher conferences the child will have to TRANSFER to foster care, because it might be considered neglect towards the child. Another reason I believe parents shouldn't face jail time for missing their child's school conferences because parents don’t always have time to go to the meetings and they should communicate with their kids on their own at home. Which is a perfect time for the parents to bond with its child and the parent can be the RESOURCE to its child at home. For the reasons above I believe that parents shouldn't face jail time for missing their child's school conferences.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 28 - Truant Students

Should Global Positioning System (GPS) devices be required for habitually truant students? No! Truant students shouldn't be required to carry a global positioning system (GPS). Criminals such as sex offenders are ADMINISTERED with (GPS) students that are truant to class shouldn't be treated as criminals and felons just because their not going to class. Also an ELEMENT that people fail to consider is the cost of the devices, as may they device cost a lot of money which school may not even be able to afford. Another reason why truant student shouldn't be required to carry a global positioning system (GPS)is because the devices might not work, because schools are giving the responsibility to the students to the CONDUCT the devices by themselves, but if the students are being truant by their own decision what makes you think the students will be responsible to carry the devices for their choice. For these reasons I believe that that truant students should be required to carry a global positioning system (GPS).

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 25 - Concealed Carry Handgun

Should adults have the right to carry a concealed handgun? No! Adults should be able to carry a concealed handgun. One reason adults shouldn't be able to carry a concealed handgun is because Americans need to ESTABLISH peace and having people be able to carry a gun would not create more peace but more violence. Another reason why adults should be able to carry a concealed handgun is because you can not JUSTIFY for killings that happen because of the amount of guns on the street the death rate will go up in America. The last reason why adults shouldn't be able to carry a concealed handgun because being able to carry a gun also may INDICATE more violence and make our streets unsafe because of the lack of experience with guns people may have. For these reasons I believe that adults shouldn't be able to carry a concealed handgun.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 26 - Cars

Would you want a car that drives itself? I would want a car that would drive itself, because you wouldn't want to be all focused on the road if you have something else to do. For example, if I just bought a bean burrito from Taco Bell and I want to eat it, I would be able to eat it if I had a car that can drive itself, but if I had to drive the car myself I wouldn't be able to eat my bean burrito, because I have to be focused on what's happening on the road. Also if I'm distracted eating my burrito it can cause me to get into an accident and I do not want that. In addition, the most common METHOD of cars driving itself is for drivers not to get into car accidents. If cars would be able to drive themselves I wouldn't be in a high risk of getting into a car accident, because now in day about 400,000 drivers age 16 to 20 get seriously injured per year this OCCURS by car accidents. Also, if car would be able to drive themselves nobody would have to take any driving tests, or have a certain age to drive, because the car would drive themselves and everyone would be able to "drive" the cars. In conclusion, cars should be able to drive themselves, because it will reduce the high risk of people getting into car accidents, we would have more free time in cars, and we can PROCEED with the method of cars driving themselves, because it wouldn't be difficult at all for us human beings "drive."

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 24

Is online learning an effective way to educate students? Yes! I strongly believe that online is an effective way to educate students. Many students around the world don't have a way to get transported to their collages or universities and online classes help them go through their course classes online and that helps them earn their degree while their home. For example what if I lived in Iowa and my university is about 45 miles away, because I live next to the woods and their is no possible way that I can get transported to the university, because I have no car and there's no public transportation etc. I can easily go online and take courses that will help me earn my degree. Also, many students argue that online courses are easier since you can take them at home where you can be comfortable and you do not have to wake up early to take a class everyday, because online you can work wherever you want though out the day. An AREA that students enjoy of online classes is that they can work on your their passe and by them-selfs. And mostly because if they do not understand what the professor is say though the site they can chat with the professor to CLARIFY the lesson. Also, the students can DIFFERENTIATE their classes including electives easier online. Then in normal school do to. In conclusion, I extremely believe that online courses are an effective way to educate students, because of the reasons above.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 22

Should felons be allowed to vote? Yes, felons should be able to be allowed to vote. This is a COMPLEX topic, because many people argue that felons are bad for society and when they are going to vote they say that their going to vote for the worst for society. But then again, couple of years ago their was a law that if a person committed three crimes they will be sentenced for life in jail. This is a really bad law, because many people who probably committed three crimes where minor. For example, if a stole candy from the candy store that will count as crime. So now I will have 2 more crimes till I'm sentenced fro life in jail. This occurred to many people which is not right and they got not to vote because they committed three crimes, and they should be able to vote. Also, felons should be able to vote because the felon are serving or served its sentences. After their sentence had been completed all their rights should be restored back.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 21

Should performance enhancing drugs, such as steroids, be allowed in sports? No! drugs such as steroids shouldn't be allowed in sports. One really important aspect that athletics don't realize when taking steroid is that its really bad for their health. Steroids don't just give the athletic strength and energy. Steroids also give athletics side effects for PERIOD of time while their taking the drug. For example, males that take steroid they start to get man boobs, their balls also start to shrink and the PRIMARY thing is that males can reproduce sperm no longer. For woman who use steroids start to develop a more masculine physique with fewer curves and will even experience shrinkage of the breast tissue. Also the who concept of a sport is to show your ability of how you play the sport and mostly in sport completions. If you're taking steroids because you don't have that much energy or strength to play the sport the athletics is like cheating, and athletics aren't not showing a good example for young children. The best thing for athletics to start doing is to go with the TRADITION to play the sport with no drugs. To start showing a good example for young children and to stop using drugs such as steroids , because it bad for athletics health.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 20

Should students receive a failing grade for plagiarizing? Yes! Students should recieve a failing grade for plagiarizing. One important reason is that plagiarizing is illegal for everyone in the world. Also, when teachers give students and assignment the teachers want the students to learn, and to put effort to their work and ACADEMIC education, but students just copy and paste words that they have read on the web. Students accually aren't doing their own work their copping a DOCUMENT. Which is also stealing. Unless, at the end of the paper of their assignment they write where they got the information or when they just copy one sentence is the MAXIMUM for plagiarizing. But most of the times they don't. In conclusion, students shouldn't pragiarized for all the reasons I explained above.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 19

Should the United States help countries like Haiti and Japan recover after a disaster? In my personal opinion the United States should help counties like Haiti and Japan recover after a disaster. One reason, is that it will make people notice aware of other countires and the povery around the world. Another reason is that the United States will built alliences with disaster striken counties. This can help the United States when we need help, because those countires will want to help us back when we need it. In addition, by helping other countries it will demestrate kidness from one human being to another. In conclusion, the United States should help countries like Haiti and Japan recover after disasters to show kindness, for alliences, and let people be aware of these countries that need help.

What would you do if you got a present you didn't like?

What would you do if you got a present you didn't like? I'm always in this type of situation when it comes  when a person gives me a presents. Well, sometimes. I handle this situation pretty good, because when I open a present I act really happy about it even when I'm not. When they ask me if I like it a respond with a happy smile and say "Yes! Thank You" and I hug that person who gave me the gift. I try to not make a "Fuchi" face. I usually try to use the object or the clothes that they gave me as a present when I see them or when I'm around with them at least once.

What would you do if a bully bothered you on your way home?

What would you do if a bully bothered you on your way home? Well, first off all I wouldn't let it happened  I would first try to ignore the fact that hes trying to bully me. Then if he's still following I will try to get a way for the person. If he touches me I will snap and hit the shit out of him. If the person doesn't hit me but tries to verbally bully me. I would cus him out and argue with the person, because I don't let myself down easily.

What would happen if there were no television? Why would this be good? bad?

What would happen if there were no television? Why would this be good? bad? Well it depends for me, because I usually don't watch T.V often, but I enjoy it when I do watch T.V. I feel that would effect me in any bad way, but for many people I would be a bad thing, because their would be a lot of jobs lost and I can say that most people use the T.V for fined out of new news. People like the T.V so much because it entertains them so much like me. After all I can say it can be a bad thing if their were no televisions, because of job loss and the news and entertainment  Hopefully it never happens and it is most likely that their will always be television in the world.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 18

Should teen drivers have special restrictions placed on their drivers' license? Yes, In my personal opinion teens should have special restrictions on their driver's license. For example, statics say that  In 2010, seven teens ages 16 to 19 died every day from motor vehicle injuries. This concludes that teens need more practice behind the wheel and that they are the ones getting in the most car accidents.Teens CULTURE is very common, but its not a good thing, because many teens are getting into car accidents with their friends. So teens need to ACQUIRE the laws that no teen under 18 can drive anyone except people older 18. In additional the government CONCLUDED that teens need laws they need to follow fro them to be safe and its being working. Teens need to be watched and need to follow the laws that are made for them for their safety.

What is your most indispensable possession and why?

What is your most indispensable possession and why? Well, the most indispensable possession that I have are my pictures from my life, friends  family and also my Ipod, because I have a lot of pictures of me and the people I love and care about. These are the most indispensable possessions I have, because I don't know why I like to see photo graph and remembered the good memory about it and I really like to think of those memories, because they make me happy and I like to remember those memories. I also believe that its awesome how you can take pictures of stuff and keep them to remember stuff and I like to go back and think about my friends, and family. So this is why my pictures of friends and family and me are my most indispensable possession and I including my Ipod.

What do you think about people polluting the environment?

What do you think about people pollution the environment? Well, honestly in my own opinion I believe this is the most selfish thing that human beings could ever do. Or something like that...I have this opinion, because a very large percentage of humans all over the world aren't caring for the animals, pollution, atmosphere, nature and not even caring for them-self's. We have done enough in the world and I extremely believe that this is ridiculous. I believe we can stop this. Every one knows is Global Warming and we can stop this I just really have a really honest opinion about us. Were all destroying this world and including me and we never know probably in 100 years were all not going to be able to live with the type of hair were going to be breathing with all the pollution were making in the world.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 17

Do the benefits of importing Chinese goods outweigh the consequences? The benefits of importing Chinese goods do not outweigh the consequences. For example, we are in debt with China and by IMPORTING their products and paying them to make our products it can make up for our debts. In addition, China's work conditions are very bad for their workers. If the U.S stop buying products form China its most likely that China will provide with better working conditions to their employers and might pay them more. Also, the way China's factories can FUNCTION better with more money from us to help with their machines in the factories. One last reason is the U.S does EXPORT products to China like soybeans and corn but their a big difference from what they export from their country and this really isn't helping us anyway not economically. In conclusion, the imports imported from China do not outweigh the consequences, because of my reasons above.
